Yahoo groups

Alright, I've had this on my mind for quite sometime, but I haven't had the time to write this up. So, we all belong to yahoo groups right? You ever think about what goes into forming one and maintaining one? Alot of work and planning. Or at least I put a lot into mine. I'm constantly thinking about how to keep my members entertained, how to keep it active, and attract new members.

Well, in my pursuit for a good group, I have come the decision that everyone puts for the same effort. Now, obviously, I'm not going to put the same amount of time in posting on other's group, as I do of my own, but I've made it my pursuit to be an active daily part of those I deem the better groups. What groups are those? Those where people are acknowledged for who they are, not just another number, and those that the people stay active in.

I'm also trying to at least appear at all the chats I see around.

So, I'm making a request to all those who belong to groups. Be an active part in your group. Even if you belong to a hundred or so. Yes, it takes a long time. Once a day, or twice, go through your messages and reply to those people who took the time to make their group as awesome as they could. I have. If I can do it with three kids, one being a three year old, a daily thrashed house, and full time job, and full time writing carreer(even if i'm not getting paid full time for it, lol), then anybody can do it. Just my two cents! Would love to hear yours!

I think we all do the same thing. When we first start out we kinda join groups whole heartedly... ALL of them lol It doesn't take long to whittle them down to a select few where you feel at home. I know all the work that goes into maintaining a website. Sometimes life does get in the way. i try to be an active participant in about 6 core chat groups. Now that the holidays are behind us, I'm sure you'll notice an increase in activity. Kudo's to you Ame, for putting together a top shelf group. I wish you continued success.

Thanks, Becky. I'll tell you, it's hard work being an author, and I know every author would agree with me we probably get less than a nickel an hour, yet, we work so hard!

I noticed that you keep things hopping on your group, Ame, that takes a lot of forethought and diligence.

Good for you for all the hard work.

I've found that the more groups I belong to the less I can participate in the ones I really care about. I think it's better to limit the number of groups you belong to.

I agree! And it's important to me to participate in the ones I belong to. But from a group owner's pov, I can appreciate all the work that goes into a group, lolol
